Dental
Care for Your Pets
When was the last time your
cat or dog had its teeth brushed? Last
night, last week, or quite possibly never? As
crazy as it sounds, your pet’s dental care is critical to their overall
health. Periodontal disease is the
most common disease in cats and dogs. Left
untouched, your pet’s teeth can become inflamed and infected.
That infection can spread form their teeth and gums to other parts of
their body such as the kidneys, liver or heart.
Often times, a strict and expensive regiment of antibiotics is
prescribed. Unfortunately, most of
the animals in this scenario have multiple teeth that are extracted to prevent
further infection.
Fortunately, there are a
numerous products available to help you provide excellent dental care for your
pet. Ideally, cats and dogs should
have their teeth professionally cleaned at least once a year.
In between those visits, brushing your pets teeth everyday with a
specifically designed toothbrush/toothpaste (available at our clinic) is the
best way to keep harmful oral bacteria, and bad breath, at bay.
Also available are oral hygiene plaque/tarter and control offensive
breath
We carry Dental Chews,
rinses, toothpastes, and toothbrushes for your pets dental care needs.
